Hello,
can we charge an E/M same day when performing a nerve conduction study (95900)? The patient was referred to have study done only.
 
Neuro E&M

You should only report an E&M service when there is a separate and distinct need for such services to occur. If there is no separate and distinct reason to perform an E&M service, only report the diagnostic for which the patient was referred and had.
