Hello,
I have a speech therapist who is contracted with Anthem only and we've been using E&M codes in addition to 92507 (speech session). And getting paid. And documenting correctly.
The CPT book states "CPT...describes procedures and services performed by physicians and other health care providers" on page x of the 2011 CPT professional book.
There's another speech therapist who is saying that since speech therapists are not physicians E&M codes cannot be billed. This has me concerned.
Can someone advise? Also the ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) has a link stating that E&M codes could be used in conjunction to 92507.
Please advise.
