Summit Strategic Solutions (a Business Partner of Summit Medical Group) has an opening for a full time E&M Coding and Documentation Auditor. Individual responsible for reviewing patients? charts and bills for accuracy and compliance to regulations; communicating and reporting results to the appropriate provider.
1) Audits Medical Records to verify the appropriate level of service has been billed by ensuring appropriate documentation.
2) Must be able to explain deficiencies in writing and verbally to providers and staff of various specialties.
3) Acts as a resource for Practice Managers, Providers and Billing teams regarding insurance denials resolution and coding questions.
4) Assists with research for complex billing and coding issues.
5) Participates in coding review seminars, etc.
6) Reviews and disseminates applicable continuing education information, Medicare bulletins, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of health care principles.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving and decision making.
CPC required and CPMA required within a reasonable time period.
Ability to apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations.
Ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, staff and the public.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required, vocational or college credits preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Clinical experience preferred. Insurance company / managed care procedural experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: CPC Certification required and maintained and CPMA required within a reasonable time period.
