Wiki E/M coding for Breast/PAP only

Hello -

Patient came in for a Preventive visit in November. She deferred her breast and pelvic exam until a later date. She is non-Medicare. In January she comes back for just a breast and Pap smear. Would an E/M visit be appropriate with V 76.19 and V76.2?

Actually, if you coded a preventive exam with V70.0 for the November visit, you may code a preventive exam visit with V72.31 for the January visit. A woman's breast and pelvic exam with or without a pap smear qualifies for a preventive visit for OB/Gyn.
