Wiki E/M coding

My question is if my dermatologist sees a patient for a procedure and also evaluates a cyst and documents monitor and return for any changes but this is benign and no treatment needed. Can this be billed as an E/M code even though no treatment initiated?

yes if it is not pertaining to the procedure diagnosis you have to use a 25 modifier on the em

but make sure you have enough documentation to charge an EM he has to meet the standard
