A question was posted to Palmetto: Can we consider both body area and organ systems together if using 95 exam guidleines.
Answer: "No. For the exam component, you may either use body areas or organ systems, not a combination."
Can somebody explain this? According to my interpreation of the 95 DG, both can be used unless have a comprehensive exam, then organ system would be the only one to use.

E/M 95 guidelines

Per my understannding of the DG, this only applies to PF and EPF. Detailed says affected body area(s) and other symptomatic or related organs system(s).

Only the comprehensive level needs only the organ systems otherwise PF, EPF and Detail can be from both the body areas and organ systems.
