Wondering if I am coding correctly with the new E/M guidelines. Patient comes in for follow up on Low Back Pain and Shoulder Pain. No acute changes, no orders or review of diagnostic studies. Pain is stable with medication, medication is refilled with slow taper. Provider addresses 2 stable chronic illnesses and provides Prescription Drug Management, would this really count as 99214? I appreciate any feedback.
