Would a pulmonologist visiting patients in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) use the same E/M codes as an MD making rounds? (mainly 99310)

Also, the MD at the SNF wants to use consultation codes during coordination of care with the pulmonologist, but I'm pretty sure that Medicare doesn't pay for consultation codes anymore, period. Right?

Is the pulmonologist an MD?

I would think you would have a fairly equal spread from 99307 to 99310, and not do mainly 99310.

Are you billing for the MD at the SNF? I'm a little unclear on the question. Medicare does not pay for consultation codes, no.
