I have a patient that had a conization of cervix (57520) which has a 90 day global period. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. The physician has now decided to go ahead with a vaginal hysterectomy. The issue I am having is for the pre-op E/M visit. Because it is the same diag as for the previous surgery, the pre-op visit is bouncing up against the global period for the conization of the cervix. All was done by the same physician. How can I bill for this pre-op E/M visit.
