Is it possible for a provider to read a CT abdomen for a patient and charge an E/M the same day? The provider is part of a group of providers owning the practice.

I see no reason why not. As long as there is sufficient documentation to support the separate E&M I would charge for both. We have providers that read imaging and provide E&M the same DOS all the time. Typically you would add modifier 25 to the E&M depending on the imaging code. Hope that helps.
