Hi. So I am sort of new to ER billing. What I am seeing a lot of, is that when my physician sees the patient in the ER and then also admits the patient. They are wanting to bill for the 99281-99285 and also the Initial Inpatient/Outpatient codes.

I thought we were not to bill 2 E/M for the same physician in the same day for the same patient? Can someone please clarify??
