Is the simple words " ear lavage performed " enough documentation to support CPT 69209? I was looking for a more specific detail procedure note. But i have providers who feel that's enough :/

As long as there is supporting info such as ear pain or fullness and a dx of cerumen impaction. Ear lavage could usually is a syringe of water used to rinse and suction out the impacted wax, your not going to get an elongated operative note or statement, it's a simple lavage. I would say that statement only represents a unilateral procedure.

Hope this helps!
