Just began ear piercing in our practice. How do you code the 69090?
How do we code the ear rings?
How do we code the application of lidocaine? Is the lidocaine included?
CPT code 69090, is this bilateral, or do we bill for right and left? We are a pediatric clinic.

Since this is an elective procedure you should check with your insurance carriers to see if they even cover it. If they do, you can ask what their specific billing guidelines are.
