Hello coders!
Does anyone use the eBook versions for coding?
If yes, how are you finding the codes quickly? Is there a more efficent method in doing so? Is anyone using the ebooks for their work? If yes, how are you searching the terms to find the appropriate code.

I've seached for a term in the search bar, which renders -- at times depending on the word/term-- a very long list. I'm wanting to just search the alphabetic index first, but it searches the entire book, often not adding from the Alphabetic index in the results.

* First: Example:
In the CPT ebook. I search for 'excision".
I get 500 results, not one of them is in the alphabetic index? All I wanted is to be taken to the Excision category in the Alphabetic Index to search that category.

But, if I enter in search "excision skin" or "excision lesion". I get many results, non of which take me to the Excision category to the appropriate sub category.
But, if I search "excision abdomen", that does take mt to the appropriate location in the Alphabetic Index.
There should be a way to narrow the search, even by using quotes "" around your search term.

The main category name, if you're searching for it, is lost in the list. It should be the first listed in the results- easy enough to do to hook up the search result to equal whatever code heading is used in the rendering of the page.

* Second gripe in the UI of the books is, the search results list opens to everything, requiring one to have to scroll, scroll scroll to try to find what you reall are looking for. The results should render as collapsed, giving us the option to 'open all' at the top. If they're collapsed down to the category, letter, chapter as the results render, it would make it much easier and faster to go to navigate what you're really looking for.

* Third gripe, also with the UI, when. you're in the Alphabetic Index, and it tells you to 'see whatever', its not clickable to take you directly there, you need to do a search to find it then do the whole scrolling forever thing to find what you're looking for in the search results.

* Fourth gripe, also UI, when in the Alphabetic Index, the main term you're searching under doesn't 'stick' to the top so you know where you are.
Really this should be collapsable as well, allowing the user to open the subcategory instead of having to scroll incessantly to find what they want.
It does give you an idea what indent you're at, but even with that you can easily look track of the heirarchy you're under.

* Fifth- the pages at times don't load fast. The books are already downloaded on my laptop, the lag shouldn't be a continual issue, the data should be there and accessible.
I have a macbook Pro, has good power, memory, etc. I don't know if the issue is with my laptop or if its with VitalSourch Bookshelf. I've reached out to them about this, didn't get a response.

At this point I'm disappointed in the ebooks... they're not inexpensive, I had thought searchability would be easier and faster with them.
I'm hoping its that I'm doing something wrong with using them.

What are everyone elses experience with using the eBooks. I would much prefer to use the eBooks over the print.

Thank you for your insights
Laura
