I work for a pediatric cardiology practice we see numerous children with heart murmurs we do echo and there is no congenital abnormality. Am i correct in using the 92306 or 93307 for non congenital findings?!

Is there anyplace that i can find guidelines as to coverage indications for those.

Any help is appreciated. Please email me at caecrist115@gmail.com

non-congenital finding

I also bill for pediatric cardiology. You would use 93306 for a complete echo with no CHD finding. 93307 is also for no CHD finding, but does not include spectral or color Doppler. 93308 is used for a limited study and you would need to use add on codes 93321 and 93325 for the doppler and color flow velocity mapping.

The two echo codes for a CHD finding are 93303 (complete) and 93304 (limited). Both require add on codes 93320(93321) and 93325 for doppler and color flow mapping.

Hope this makes sense.
