Hi, I have a pt on ECMO and usually our Heart/Vascular intensivists do the management. Our hospital also has ICU docs under the anesthesia dept, and on one of the subsequent ECMO days, one of the anes ICU docs managed the ECMO. Every other day was CT Intensivists. So do I bill an initial or a subsequent for that one day? If I bill subs I know it's going to flag me for not billing the primary code first, but it seems billing an initial would be wrong since it's already set up.
