Wiki Ectopic bone of the hip

Patient is status post TH arthroplasty, now presents with ectopic bone formation and impingment of hip joint.
An incision was made throught the IT band (not into the joint) and the ectopic bone was removed.
Does anyone have any ideas besides unlisted?
