I am new to neurology and I am working with the providers on setting up the EEG templates in our EMR.
Question 1:
What is the diffrence when billing for a sleep deprived EEG? I do not see any specific code for this and from my research the patient comes in after a night of no sleep and then has the study which is 20-40 minutes or sometimes up to an hour, If this is the case wouldn't you use the EEG codes 95816-95819?
Question 2:
The providers also do 24 hour ambulatory EEG studies which also captures an EKG which they do dictates normal sinsus rythum. Can you bill for the EKG in conjunction with the EEG or is this bundled into the EEG study itself?
