EGD Diagnosis Question

We have a patient that came in for a EGD with a preoperative DX of Anemia. The postoperative diagnosis is also Anemia. In the findings section of the op report it also states gastritis without bleeding and does not state it is causing the anemia. It was originally coded and rejected with anemia as the primary diagnosis. I am being asked if I can change the primary to gastritis. I don't feel this is correct. I feel it should be anemia as primary and gastritis as second. Is this correct?

I would code the gastritis first since that was the finding and the anemia second. Especially if a biopsy was taken, because that justifies the reason for the biopsy.
