Hi everyone! I have a question. My doctors always do EGD with EUS but during the EUS they sometimes look at the pancreas. Now my question is which code do I use? Would 43237 fit? Or 43259? These codes can be confusing. Please help!

Always code 43237 whenever any of the adjacent structures was examined. Adjacent structures is defined as not only the walls of the GI tract, but other structures such as the liver, biliary tract, pancreas, and lymph nodes. If a provider examines any of the given structures in EGD EUS you will always code 43247 for diagnostic procedure and 43238 for EGD EUS FNA/Biopsy. For better understanding review the attached screenshot from Encoder Pro.
