question??



when a patient comes in for an egd and has a visible vessel but no bleeding but clips are placed and then injection is done for hemostasis. how do you all code this?
 
have you queried the physician on this to make sure there was no bleeding or a report error? You have to have proof for the clip in the report or else it never happened! If you don't have medical necessity for those clips then its just an EGD. You could try k31.89? BUt I would first ask the physician and ask to make an attestation on report
