one of our Dr's is looking into the EHR software. I've heard that Allscripts, eClinicalWorks are good - does anyone know any others vendors that you'd recomend? Thanks.

ECW works great. Working in orthopedics it was wonderful because you can see everything on that patient and create letters, forms, etc. It was great.

We love our NextGen. It combines a practice managment system with an electronic health record.

I recommmend NueMD. It has a great EHR that is CCHIT certified and also has an integrated practice management system that is super user friendly. Good luck in your search.

Keep in mind that NO EHR is actually certified yet to meet the incentive bonus standards. While some programs may be CCHIT certified, the final rule for EHR certification just came out July 13, 2010. See http://healthit.hhs.gov/portal/serv...ntid=97&mode=2&in_hi_userid=11673&cached=true
