I work in a cardiology office and we perform in office Echoes, stress tests, echo stress tests, event monitors, and holter monitors. When doing an EKG on the same DOS of any of these tests when do I need to use the 59 modifier? I am getting mixed answers.

Thanks!

Normally an EKG is not performed on the same day as the listed procedures. The only way I would bill both is if the results of the EKG led to the procedures you listed, then I would add a 59 modifier.
