I'm hoping for clarification on what is considered to be an acceptable electronicly signed medical record/order?

My own experience with EMR's is they have the option to pull an actual signature into the note or order. I have recenlty came accross orders that say signing provider and then the physican's name is typed. If I were to personally audit a facility I probably would not consider an order of this sort to be signed.

Please let me know what you think, particularly from an auditing persepective.

Thanks so much for any help with this.
