It has always been my understanding that to give a patient hormone treatment that a tissue diagnosis is needed but my provider tells me that is no longer true. He states that if the PSA is very high and his CT scan shows sclerotic lesions we no longer need a tissue diagnosis per the AUA. Does anyone know if this is true and if Medicare will allow that??
