I must be having a brain cloud !
If my Orthopaedic surgeon goes to the emergency department, does surgery and sends
patient home all on same day, do I consider that outpatient or inpatient ? I am saying outpatient, but now I am doubting myself.

you will need to see the chart to see if he ordered an inpatient admit, in the absence of an order to admit to inpatient , then it is outpatient.
