Would you code cirrhosis and end stage liver disease as two separate codes? Or is cirrhosis included in end stage liver disease?

Cirrhosis is a final common endpoint in the stages of patients with chronic progressive liver disease (i.e., ESLD). If the underlying cause for the ESLD is cirrhosis, I would code only the specified cirrhosis. The code for ESLD is unspecified.
