Hello all....
Doc did 42820 but at end of op note states

"The posterior check of the inferior turbinate on the right completely obstructed the posterior choana. The suction Bovie cautery was used at 40 watts along the CO2 Laser to shrink and reduce some of the posterior tip of the turbinate."

I was looking at billing 30801 w/ dx 478.0 and no bundling issues w/ T&A and did query doc.
Doc is calling this incendental and not to bill?

Thanks!

Personally, I think the doctor is short changing themselves, I would definitely bill this out; most likely the obstructing turbinate was not viewed on a normal exam due to the age of the child, but was subsequently found on exam under anesthesia.....many time things are found intra-operatively that need to be treated, but that does not mean we cannot charge for them....

Use your best judgement, ultimately the physician is the boss, but I would argue the point with any of my docs.....

Good Luck,

Jennifer
