I am struggling to find guidance on how to properly code a patient encounter for a prescription of an epi-pen.

To give a little back ground: PT is coming in before camping to get a RX for an Epi-pen. The PT has never had an anaphylactic experience, only local reaction. Not currently experiencing any signs or symptoms.

What is the appropriate ICD-10 to assign in this situation? the provider did prescribe the medication...

It did find a T78.49X, that is as generic a code I could find for Allergy, because anything associated with bee sting seems to point to current reactions or anaphylaxis. But I don't really like that code either. Would an administrative Z code be better?

Also with the T code... because it isn't an current issue would that make the 7th character need to be a D or S?
