Wiki ER Consults-cpt code should be used

When my cardiologist does consults in the ER, what cpt code should be used? I was told we are suppose to use Office consult codes 99241-99242 or office visits, 99202-99205 because the ER codes are used by the ER doctors. We are having claims denied when I use the consult and office codes.

The MCM states that when you ar provider is called to the ER for a patient then you use the ER POS and the ER levels (99281-99285).

What Insurances Still Pay on Consult Codes ?

Here in the PNW, private insurances followed Medicare's example and do not recognize consultative codes any longer.
