Can a consult be billed if request for a consult from an ER physician is
requested? ie: Acute care clinic request a consult from an ER physician.
 
Depends on Payor

If the documentation requirements are met and it isn't a Medicare(or any other payor that doesn't recognize consults), a consult can be coded. At least until the consult codes completely go away.
