Please help code the following:
The Common Bile Duct was dilated to approximately 15 mm. There were two filling defects each approximately a centimeter in size. We then performed a biliary sphincterotomy, approximately 10 to 11 mm. We were unable to get the stone out to the sphincterotomy.. Therefore, we used a 10mm x 4 cm dilating balloon and dilated the sphincterotomy. Following balloon dilatation of the sphincterotomy, we were able to remove both stones into the duodenum. The balloon came throught the sphincterotomy with minimal resistance.

Thank you !

Based on my understanding of the guidelines for these codes, the procedure needs to be coded as 43264. 43277 would not be reported because the OP note does not say that the balloon dilation was employed into the common duct for any reason other than to help move the calculi out of the duct and into the duodenum. Hope this helps!
