Need help with ICD10 codes to bill:

Patient with CKD5, DM2 with hyperglycemia? I've searched everywhere to see if both E11.65 AND E11.22 is necessary? My 2 leads both came back with different answers. One says you only need E11.65 the other states code both with manifestations!!!!!!!!

HELP, please.

Is the CKD Stage 5 definitively linked by the provider to diabetes?

If not, E11.65, N18.5
If yes, E11.22, N18.5 - and I'm on the fence as to whether E11.65 would be necessary here as a tertiary code
 
If the diabetes is linked in the documentation to the CKD, then you will code both E11.22 and E11.65 as well as the CKD. This is necessary to show the complete picture of the patient's disease as E11.22 does not address the hyperglycemia. Sequencing will depend on the main reason for the encounter but one of the DM codes will precede the CKD code.
