We are seeking a Coding Specialist for our Ethics and Compliance Department. The Coding Specialist, at the direction of the Vice President of Compliance, performs timely audits of medical documentation for professional outpatient services provided to patients of employed Primary Care practices, ensures that medical billing conforms to governmental and third party payer regulations, and meets with individual physicians, coders, and department personnel to present findings and identify corrective action plans, as appropriate. The Coding Specialist provides assistance in coding education for healthcare providers, managers, billers and coders and, upon requests, may perform compliance investigations, general reviews and other compliance activities.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and a minimum of five years of coding experience with current coding certification, such as CPC, COC or CFPC. Experience in auditing of medical records or strong training background in coding and documentation is desired. Knowledge of PowerWorks is beneficial.
