Hi all, I don't know about anyone else out there but I'm having trouble understanding e/m coding. It sounds simple, but not to me. Can anyone recommend a website or book that can easily break it down? I appreciate any help!

I'll gladly share the resources I have found to be helpful.

First, let's start with CMS E/M guidelines, as they are commonly referred to whenever there're a possible discrepancy.

2)The mostly free E/M University is also a good resource of E/M suggestions.

3) American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has also written a good article on E/M

4) AAPC has published an Audit tool


5) NGS E/M Audit tool (a local MAC)


You can also dive into AAPCs webinars and go for gold and hit their E/M study guides. Both cost money of course, but you would have that to reference (and some CEUs too).
