I am very confused on the following operative note. The patient already has a seton in place, however the Dr is doing a conversion of it. Here is a sum of the note
The Bivalve retracto was placed into the anal canal showing the seton located in the fistual tract located posteriorly. The subcutaneous tissue overlying the fistula tract was scored with cautery down to the beginning of sphincter muscle. There was significant amount of muscle encircled by the seton. The decision was made not to perform the fistulotomy at this time, rather the seton was tightened using 2-0 silk sutures and cut to size.
Is there a CPT code out there for this?
