Hello, I am trying to code a patient that was taken to the OR for an exam under anesthesia. The physician originally thought that the pt. had meatal stenosis, but they actually have distal hypospadias. I cannot find a good CPT code for this patient. No scope was used. Our practice will not let us use any CPT codes that state unlisted. I would appreciate any help you may have.
 
There is no code for an examination under anesthesia for a male as there is for a female. I would suggest you bill a low level outpatient or inpatient visit as the case may be.
