Need help coding. Pt with hx of episiotomy. Now with excess cervical tissue protruding into introitus. Per Op Report, 5cm of cervix were excised. Path report confirmed benign cervical tissue. Would CPT 57500 be the correct code? Seems like it should be something else, but I'm not seeing any repair done in the Op Report. Appreciate any insight.

Well 57500 (2.21 RVUs in facility setting) is a bit less than the work performed, but 57530 (trachelectomy with 11.17 RVUs) is a bit more than the work performed as he did not remove all of the cervix, just a portion of it. Depending on the exact description of work you could either go with 57500-22 or 57530-52.
