I have a couple of surgeons that want to bill for excessive skin removal after a hernia repair. The statement in one op report is The patient's redundant and soft tissue were removed with total skin flap removal measuring approximately 17.5 x 4/25 cm and has indicated the use of cpt code 15847. Is this acceptable to bill after a hernia repair? Thank you,
