Wiki Excision of lateral epicondylar nonunion elbow

Hello,

We are trying to put a precert request in, but not sure on the exact code. The physician only states what I put in the Title. I pulled an office note and he dictates he wants to remove a bone fragment and explore.

Would the CPT be 24101?

I would say either the one you chose or 24358 which says an incision is made over the lateral epicondyle of the humerus, and removes (debrides) damaged soft tissue or bone.

I was wondering about the nonunion part. He is not going to try and fix this? I would ask the physician for more specificity.
