Would the excised diameter be 5cm? cpt 11606?
Would the subq repair be cpt 12031?
Epidermal layer repair not reported separately?
Procedure Note: Re-excision of known SCC of the chest.
Eliptical excision measuring 4cm L X 1.8cm W X 0.5cm margins.
2cm in length subq layer repaired with 3 sutures due to bleeding under the site of the lesion. The epidermal layer was closed with 8 simple sutures.
Pathology resulted benign for this re-excision of known SCC would you still report malignant dx code and malignant excision cpt code because the intent was to make sure the malignant lesion was fully excised?
