Excision Ulcers

My doc is using codes 15936, 15937, 15946, 15956 for the excison of the ulcers but is not doing the flap at the same session. Just making sure we can usee these codes without doing the flap procedure. I know the flap is a different code. Most times they are not having the flap later either, soooo just making sure. :confused:
 
If you look at the description of these procedures, it states that it's "in preparation" for the flap, which would be a separate code. I don't see any reason you shouldn't use these codes. If the flap is being applied at a separate session, you probably would use modifier 58 (staged procedure) to that code.
