I'm new to dermatology coding, have a question: If an excisional biopsy of the forearm is performed on a "probable squamous cell carcinoma" would you code as incisional biopsy or biopsy?
 
I am not aware of a code for "incisional biopsy."

If the entire lesion was removed, this will be coded as an excision. Whether to use the benign (114xx) or malignant (116xx) excision code depends on what the path report says.
