Surgery was done on a patient with hx of common bile duct obst and previous drainage. Suspected to have pancreatic cancer but needs confirmation with biopsy. The surgery was:
Exploratory Laporotomy, Liver Biopsy, Biopsy of enlarged periportal lymph node and pancreatic mass biopsy. I needed advice on the best way to code. I thought that it would be 48100 for the pancreatic mass, 47001 for the liver biopsy. What code for the periportal lymph biopsy or is there a more inclusive code for the biopsies?
