our providers and hung up on these 2 codes Z59.5 extreme poverty and Z59.6 low income. They are askingthe difference between the 2.
My thought is that extreme poverty would be no income at all and low income would be very little income.

I found this:
Extreme poverty is a condition characterized by severe deprivation of basic human needs, including food, safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, health, shelter, education and information. It depends not only on income but also on access to services."[2] In 2008, "extreme poverty" widely refers to earning below the international poverty line of $1.25/day (in 2005 prices), set by the World Bank. This measure is the equivalent to earning $1.00 a day in 1996 US prices, hence the widely used expression, living on "less than a dollar a day.

Extreme poverty applies when a person does not have enough resources to meet basic essential needs. Low income is just in reference to a limited amount of money. Basically poverty relates to a lack of "everything," not just money.
