Hi all,

Our office is trying to preauthorize what is essentially a one-sided facelift with code 15828. Our surgeon performed three separate tumor resections of the right side which has led to a very noticeable difference in facial symmetry. The (self-funded) insurance plan will not authorize the procedure because the CPT 15828 contains "facial wrinkles or rhytids" in the description. Am I stuck here? Does anyone have any suggestions on coding or a different approach to the insurance company?

Thank you!

we are using these code too

Our office is using this code 15828 as Diode laser surgery are we using the right code?? you are having trouble with it also..

Put a request in to the insurance company to have your surgeon do a peer to peer review with the medical director at the insurance company, often times this can be the key.
