Office Hemoccult testing..., our office does fecal occult testing @ our annual gyn exams when req'd...I'm finding Medicare to allow for the code as g0328 and other carriers 82272 which have a significant difference in allowable..,that being Medicare at ta much higher rate which seems very odd. Can you tell me what I'm missing?

In our office for Medicare we also use G0328 and other insurance companies we bill
82274.

The only thing you may be missing is the QW modifier on the FOBT claim for medicare. In our office we use the G0328 with modifier QW to bill medicare and the 82274 for commercial insurance. Medicare just requires us to use certain codes to bill to them. I do not know the exact reason why but they do.
