In regards to attestations, fellow and resident rules are interchangeable, correct? I am being told it's ok to bill if a fellow documents an E&M visit without an attestation but an attestation is required on surgical notes. This makes no sense to me, attestations should be required no matter the note type. Can anyone verify? Is there a caveat I don't know about? THANK YOU!
