Hi - does anyone have a more specific code for femoral hip resurfacing procedure - e.g. I believe it is the birmingham procedure. All i come up with is 27299 - hoping there is a more specific code.

Per AAOS 27125 is the appropriate code for a femoral head resurfacing procedure , when only the head of the femur is replaced (a femoral component hemiarthroplasty). The code describes a partial "arthroplasty" procedure and is appropriately used for the femoral head resurfacing or a partial arthroplasty procedure....is what the article states. I'm not sure if that helps you.
