Good morning.
My provider performed a fistulogram and an open ligation of the collaterals in an attempt to mature the fistula (did not ligate the fistula itself)..
NCCI edits bundle the two procedures together. Does anyone know if it is appropriate to break the bundle since the fistulogram was transcatheter and the ligation was open?
If not, would I only code 36832 for the ligation of collateral vessels?
"catheter was inserted over a wire and a fistulogram was performed"
"the cephalic vein was ligated; 3 additional branches off the maturing fore
arm vein were also ligated with improvement in thrill to mid-forearm"
